Top five book's, buccaneer blogfest

Banner by Cody Underwood

Hello all,
So today I found the Buccaneer blogfest and although it is already well under-way, I decided to join in. So what we have to do today is talk about our top 5 book's. You do not know how hard this is going to be for me as I love books and reading and also have a very eclectic taste and a very bad memory lol.
So I am going to start by saying that my books will not be my most beloved of all time, but the five books which I have read fairly recently, which I love.

So the first book aka number 1 that has really stood out to  me of late is ( Drum role please)

Tangled Tides by Karen Amanda Hooper.

What can I tell you about this book besides WOW!!! I was so badly hooked in by this book that having to put it down for any reason was torture, the characters are very absorbing, the story keeps you guessing all the way through and makes, you scream, cry, and laugh.
if you haven't read it then I highly recommend it and I can't wait to read more by this author, seriously loved this.

number 2 is...

Why don't you come for me? by Diane Janes

This book was incredibly frustrating but in a good way. You watch the main characters life and you totally feel for her and become absorbed in it. It is one of those books that has you speaking out to the character in fact screaming out to her at times, because you are so desperate to help her and open her eyes.
It is both amazing  and heart breaking and in my opinion a must read.

Number 3

Has to be Junk by Melvin Burgess.

This was a book I read and reread as a teen, I absolutely loved it and all the characters within it and they have stayed with me throughout my life.
The first time I read it, it took me a little while to grip with the constant changes of point of view, but I love how hearing each character talk in their own voice allows you to get all the more close to them and Tar, how I fell in love with Tar. I guess he's the reasons nice guys still seem attractive to me today.

number 4

Ok I am struggling now there are so many choices, so I am going to go with a book that I am currently reading and haven't actually finished yet, just because I am loving it so much, it is...

The day I died by Polly Courtney

For a start this book surprises you from the start and just keeps compelling you to read more. It's well written, full of revelations and just great. I can't say to much right now as I haven't finished it yet, but so far I'm loving it.

number 5

last but far from least is...
The help by Kathryn Stockett

I actually watched the film first and then went back for the book and I just love it, it is just such an inspirational story, with very vivid and beautiful characters who are facing incredible struggles and taking great risks but who tug at your heart strings. It made me cry, laugh, and smile.
An absolute must read in my eyes.

So there you have it my top five, hope you like them and I'd love to hear what books you love so I can add to my already over flowing kindle supply lol.

love and hugs Joss. xxx

  1. Hi! Those are intriguing choices. I've not read any of them, but I'll add them to my TBR list. The Harry Potter series is definitely my all time favorite for books. Karen Marie Moning's Fever series is a close second.

    1. I got put off the Harry Potter series, after I had to go through the first book highlighting all the animals as at the time I worked for a film farm, who were going to be providing some of the Animals for the films. Even though there were only certain animals we could help with, anything they had in the first book, be it a cat, chicken or rat, I had to highlight it, it was not a fun Job lol.
have to look for the Karen Marie Moning's fever series though and see what it's about as I've never heard of it before. :)
